Yesterday, the Chairman of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan met with Mahir Safarli, Head of the Regional Representation of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

According to the State Migration Service's website, the parties discussed prospects and key areas of cooperation in the field of migration.

M. Safarli noted the successful completion of the #IBELONG campaign to eliminate statelessness in 2024 and emphasized that Turkmenistan's experience in this area is exemplary for other countries.

As was specifically noted, by joining the new Global Alliance to End Statelessness, Turkmenistan continues its effective cooperation in this area.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the continued harmonious development of their partnership, the source noted.
