Turkmenistan ensured the transit of Uzbek humanitarian aid to Iran

On March 16, Uzbekistan sent humanitarian aid to the people of Iran, delivering the cargo via Turkmenistan, the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

The humanitarian aid includes food products—flour, rice, sugar, pasta, sunflower oil, and canned goods—as well as medicines and medical supplies. Several vehicles carrying the cargo have already been handed over to the Iranian side.

The handover of the cargo took place in the presence of Iranian officials: Mujtaba Bazmara, head of the Daregaz city administration; Ali Masrumifar, head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry's office in Razavi Khorasan Province and adviser to the minister; and Ali Mujtaba Rouzbehani, Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan. The Uzbek side was represented at the ceremony by Ravshanbek Alimov, the Uzbek Ambassador to Turkmenistan, who personally handed over the cargo to the Iranian officials. The Uzbek Foreign Ministry did not specify the total volume of the shipment.

Iranian officials expressed gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan and emphasized that this initiative is an expression of the traditions of friendship, solidarity, and mutual support between the two countries. At a press conference in Ashgabat, Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Rozbehani thanked the Turkmen side for its assistance in organizing the transit of humanitarian aid.

Turkmenistan, which served as a transit corridor for Uzbek aid, also provided humanitarian assistance to Iran. The country also sent humanitarian aid to the Iranian people, demonstrating solidarity with its neighbor.
